25 Days of Mascara: Day 5

Welcome to 25 Days of Mascara!  This series, if you haven't guessed already, will feature one mascara per day until Christmas.  I love trying out new mascara, so what better way to spend the most wonderful time of the year (and my birthday month) reviewing the one product I can't do without?

Day 5: Julep Volumizing Mascara

You might know Julep for their nail polishes, but they've been tapping into the makeup realm with lipgloss, eyeshadows, and even primers.  I received this mascara in my very first Maven box, which I got for FREE (shipping, of course, was not free)!  Although Julep has some of the coolest nail colors around, I'm not quite sure their Volumizing Mascara (on sale for $12.99; regularly $24) will make the cut...

Obviously, Julep used MANY coats to get that look while I only used one, but I like to use this mascara just to give my lashes a little boost.  I love how natural it makes my lashes look while slightly defining and adding volume.  As you can see, you can apply several coats to really pump it up, but I'd prefer to use Jordana (Day 4) if I need my lashes to really stand out.

Likes:
 - adds natural volume and definition
 - doesn't clump or flake (even with it's micro-fibers)
 - easy to apply (I love the wand!)

Dislikes:
 - must add several coats for extra volume
 - price
 - smudges slightly on lower lashes
