Claims: "Feel shiny within, not without! Revolutionary light-reflecting powder contains porous silica beads which absorb oil and minimize shine. Lightweight powder feels weightless on the skin without adding color, and sets with a luminous, soft-focus finish."
Something that I didn't notice about this powder until I got it home is that it contains very fine glitter. As I said, it's very fine, so it's definitely not noticeable unless you look at your face closely in the mirror (as you can see in the pictures below). I was unsure about it at first, too, but it makes your face look matte, but not too matte like some powders can. As it claims, it gives you a soft-focus finish.
Now, I've tried this with several different foundations (long-wearing and not-so-long-wearing) and while it does control shine when used with the long-wear foundations, I didn't notice much difference in the oil department. It's strange -- the shine was not nearly as bad as normal, but my face still felt oily at the end of the day. I'm not sure how that works, but I'm impressed.
As far as taking your non-long-wearing foundations and making them last, this is not that product! I used it with WnW's new BB Cream and it did not help with shine or oil control. It's not a miracle worker, so use it with your favorite long-wear foundation to make it go the extra mile.
The one thing that I really don't like about the powder is that it runs out very quickly. I've only used it about a dozen times, and I've already hit pan! Powders usually last me a 3-4 months and it's not like I'm packing it on my face everyday. This would probably only last me a month and I'm not sure I would want to get in the habit of purchasing a powder that frequently. Just seems like it should last longer than a month, no?
Likes:
- price
- helps control shine when used with long-wear foundation
- doesn't completely mattify -- has a soft-focus finish
Dislikes:
- product runs out quickly -- would have to purchase more often
- doesn't absorb oil
Have you guys tried this powder or any of the other new Wet n Wild products? Anything I should definitely try?
