That's right, it's hammer time!
Contrary to popular belief, these easy-breezy pants did not originate with MC Hammer. The pants originated 2,000 years ago in the middle east, and unlike modern harem pants, it's predecessors required much more fabric (as shown below).

Honestly, I've never been a fan of harem pants as I just don't think they would look right on my body. I feel like no matter how much I'd try to look like Rihanna or Olivia Palermo, I'd end up looking more like a Justin Bieber. Bloomers, on the other hand, are an entirely different story (I feel a bloomer revival is long overdue and obviously inevitable); I'd rock bloomers over harem pants any day!
