You Had Me at Shine-Free

As an oily-faced gal, I am a sucker for anything that claims to magically erase/prevent/dissolve oil and shine.  My brain says, you know better, Cassie but my heart says, I need that in my life!  That being said, I think only 98% of products that claim to provide oil relief actually do.  Maybe it's me, maybe it's Maybelline but I was not impressed by their Fit Me Shine-Free Foundation.

First of all, it's pretty difficult to find your shade because of the lighter core unless you know which shade of Maybelline's Fit Me liquid foundation you need.  I have the liquid foundation which I know is too dark for me, but I couldn't remember which shade I bought so I unknowingly bought the exact same shade (130, Buff Beige).  I would have gone back to the store to exchange it, but I was too anxious to try it out and I figured with it being summer I would be tan enough for it to match (I was mistaken).

Aside from it being too dark for me, this really is a horrible foundation.  I was surprised at how poorly it worked as I've watched several positive reviews about it on YouTube.  First of all, it does not have a matte finish even after setting it with my trusty Rimmel powder (featured in my Top 10 Under $10).  It feels very heavy and thick on the face and turns me into a disco ball after only a couple of hours.  At the end of the day, I even had spots on my face that were completely sans foundation.  Where the heck did the foundation go?  Black hole?  Bermuda Triangle?

The only things going for this foundation is that I love that it's in stick form (spill-proof!) and it's pretty cheap as far as foundation goes (under $7 at Walmart).  I don't know what's in the "shine-free core" but it didn't do anything for my oily face and I shan't (yes, shan't) be using it again.
