July Ipsy Glam Bag: Beach Beauty

I know I said somewhere in this blog that I would be showing what I got for June's Glam Bag, but by the time I got motivated enough to do it, it was already July.  Soo, here's a look at what I got for my July bag and a couple of quick first impressions.

Products included (L-R): Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray
Coola Mineral Sunscreen Rose Essence Tinted Moisturizer
BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Sample
Benefit Benetint
Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt
First of all, the bag is so adorable!  It certainly makes up for the couple of products I'm not too crazy about.  I honestly thought I would be into the beach spray since I like the plain Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Argan Oil, but I will not be using this at all.  The smell is so strong that even if the product worked wonders for my hair, I still would not be able to get past the scent.  If soap and sunscreen had a love child, this beach spray is what it would smell like.

The Coola tinted moisturizer is decent as far as I can tell, but if I need to wear an SPF I'll just wear regular sunscreen, thank you.

I've been wanting to try out BH Cosmetics for a while, so I was looking forward to getting this in my bag this month.  The packaging is so compact it's cute and although I'm not an every day eyeshadow wearer, I might just have to start.  The gold color "Malibu" is gorgeous (as I'm writing this, I keep stopping and admiring the swatch on my hand) and can't wait to get it on my 'lids!

I think I was most excited to try Benefit's Benetint because I've heard a lot of great things about it in the beauty community and I absolutely love Benefit's Posietint.  I first tried it on my cheeks, but it didn't show up at all even after a couple of applications.  I tried it with a brush and with my finger and even tried it on my lips but to no avail.  I'm not sure where this product goes when I apply it, but it certainly does not intend to stay on my skin.

As you can see by this swatch, the Pop Beauty crayon looks pretty nice (at least on my hand).  When I tried it on my lips, however, it looked quite different.  I don't know if it was the product itself or if I just needed to exfoliate my lips (most likely both), but the color settled into all of the creases on my lips and made them stand out.  I've had this problem with other lip products, so I'm not blaming the product entirely, but I wish it would've worked for me as I love the color!

Ipsy's Glam Bag subscription service is a great way to try out different products without breaking the bank.  You'll get 5 good-sized (sometimes full-sized) products for only $10 a month!  If you're interested in becoming an Ipsy Glam Bag subscriber, click here!
