Food for Thought

I was browsing the vast fashion encyclopedia that is Polyvore the other day, when I came across this:

Sweater

No, your eyes do not deceive you; that really is a broccoli sweater.  When I first saw this I thought, surely this isn't real.  I mean, broccoli?  On a sweater?  Really?!

Upon further investigation, it appears this is not a ploy and there's plenty more where it came from.  The sweater is made by a company called Shelfies, who offer a variety of food-themed attire ranging from Ramen hoodies, Juicy Bacon Tees, to a Sushi Tank Top.  You can even get a custom-made hoodie or tank with your own face plastered all over it.

I love food as much as the next guy, but I don't know if I'd go as far as wearing my favorite food on a sweatshirt.  Yes, it's quirky and fun, but I don't think I'd want to be known as the "girl in the broccoli shirt," ya know?  I do actually love this berry shirt and breakfast-themed earrings, however, that doesn't mean I'd be brave enough to wear it out in public.

What do you think?  Would pay homage to your favorite food via fashion?

  1. I think it could work as a graphic print but personally don't like the photo print.

    1. I like the idea, but it's just a little too bold for my taste!
